The most basic description of the roasting process would be that the beans need to be heated to around 400*F in about 7-12 minutes and then cooled quickly. As heat is applied they will change in color from green to yellow, to ever-darkening shades of brown, once the roast level desired is achieved, cool the beans quickly.

Roast the beans in your own coffee roaster or heat source to your desired roast level - then cool the beans quickly using a fan.

SR500: Pre-heat on high for 2 minutes then roast as follows: Full fan throughout, 7 min total time. First 2 minutes low temp, last 5 min. medium temp. Let the beans rest for three to four days before use. Good for at least a week. These are very dense beans, with a ton of flavor. Both knobs are wide open for as long as you can. Hear 1st crack and when you start hearing a few second crackers stop the heat and cool those bad boys down.
